Project Manager/Senior Project Manager

The Project Manager/Senior Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of planning and execution of large-scale concentrated solar thermal power projects, ensuring projects are completed on time and on budget. This position reports to the Vice President of Project Management & Construction and will interface with Development and Engineering departments to establish the project execution plan and to define technical configuration and scope, construction schedules, capital cost budgets, performance parameters and operational requirements. The Project Manager/Senior Project Manager will provide planning and technical support for upstream development projects including cost estimating and proposals, performance analyses, environmental permitting and electrical interconnection studies and will furnish technical direction in arranging for and managing strategic suppliers, EPC contractors and other service providers. Site construction management experience preferred—potential to relocate to project sites and represent the owner through construction to project close-out.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a related engineering discipline. P.E. registration or advance degree a plus
  • Superior verbal and written communication as well as poise in public speaking and presentation
  • Experience in power generation systems with knowledge of relevant codes and practices
  • Competent with principles of thermodynamic modeling and analysis
  • Experience managing technical scope within an engineering and construction context
  • Demonstrated past performance successfully managing power plant development and or construction
  • Periodic travel to project sites including possible long-term assignments
  • Proficient in cost estimating, budgeting and cost accounting for major capital projects
  • Demonstrated team coordination, leadership and management skills
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in electricity generation or utility infrastructure projects
